Freight 2018

Freight 2018
2018 Freight year could be our most challenging yet! The government has implemented Electronic Logging Device (ELD) out for any freight on trucks, this includes ANYTHING that will be shipped via semi. Freight rates will be impacted and we need to keep these trucks on the road. This includes getting all trucks loaded & unloaded in a timely manner at any nursery and/or garden center. Our minimum order could possibly be effected because having more drops on a truck will make it hard for drivers to work within the time allocated. Drive times, shutdowns, no-touch loads will all create issues of their own. Unfortunately there is NO way around these regulations.
How does this affect us in Colorado?
Normally we were able to accommodate 2-3 trucks or more a week during the spring busy season. I have heard that these long distance loads have already gone up significantly because of less drivers on the road, increased fuel costs and weather related relief efforts in other parts of the country. We may need to ask you to be more accommodating by being more flexible, racking more plants, expand unloading hours to assist in the efforts of getting plants to you, our customers. I will work on every effort to get you your plants in a timely fashion with as minimal additional freight expenses as possible.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions, comments or concerns.
Thanks so much for your continued support!
